A

Ace - See also; Asexual.

AFAB - assigned female at birth.

AMAB - assigned male at birth.

Anal Sex - sexual activity involving penetration of the anus.

Anatomical Sex - See Also; Biological Sex.

Androgyny - a gender identity or appearance that isn’t clearly male or female.

Anilingus - sexual activity in which one partner uses their mouth to give pleasure to another partner’s anus. See also; Eating Ass.

Anus - the opening from the rectum located in-between the buttocks.

Areola - the darker, usually raised, area surrounding the nipples.

Aromantic - a person who does not experience romantic attraction.

Asexual - having a lack of (or very low level of) sexual attraction to others and/or a lack of interest or desire for sex or sexual partners. See also; Ace.

B

Bacterial Vaginosis - a very common vaginal infection which can cause smelly, fishy discharge.

Balls - See also; Testicles.

Barrier Methods - any method of contraception that puts a barrier between sperm and egg.

Bicurious - curious about exploring same-sex sexual attraction and behaviour.

Bigender - a person who has two gender identities either simultaneously or at different times.

Biological Sex - medical term used to refer to the chromosomal, hormonal, and anatomical characteristics that are used to classify an individual as female, male, or intersex. Often referred to as simply “sex”, “physical sex”, or “anatomical sex”.

Biphobia - the fear, dislike, or mistreatment of someone who identifies as bisexual, or is perceived to identify as bisexual.

Birth Control - behaviours, devices, or medications used to avoid unintended pregnancy. See also; Contraception.

Bisexual - a person who has romantic and/or sexual attractions toward people of multiple genders.

Blood Test - a medical procedure in which a syringe is used to extract a few drops of blood from the vein by medical personnel to be tested in a lab for illness.

Blow Job - a sexual act in which a partner uses their mouth to give pleasure to another partner’s penis. See also; Fellatio.

Breasts - a secondary sex characteristic found in all genders, but is typically more formed in females for the purpose of milk production.

C

Cap - a method of contraception in the shape of a small disc that sits over the cervix to prevent unintended pregnancies. See also; Diaphragm.

Cervical Cancer - a type of cancer that affects the cervix.

Cervical Screening Test - a medical procedure in which the cervix is examined and a sample of cervical tissue is taken to test for cancerous cells and HPV. See also; Pap Smear, Smear Test.

Cervix - the neck of the uterus which connects it to the vagina.

Chemsex - the use of drugs to enhance sexual intensity and boost confidence during sex.

Chlamydia - a very common sexually transmitted infection (STI) that, if left untreated, can cause infertility in uterus-having people.

Circumcision - a medical or cultural procedure where the foreskin is surgically removed from the penis.

Cisgender - a term used to describe a person who’s gender identity is the same as they were assigned at birth.

Clitoris -

Coil - a method of contraception in which a device made of copper or plastic is inserted into the uterus via the cervix and prevents unintended pregnancies. See also, IUD.

Coming Out -

Condom - a method of contraception in which a sheath made of latex, polyurethane, or animal tissue is worn over the penis to prevent unintended pregnancies and the transmission of STI’s.

Consent -

Contraception - any method used to prevent pregnancy.

Crabs - small insects that live in the body hair that can be spread through close contact with the affected person. See also; Pubic Lice.

Cunnilingus - a sexual act in which one partner uses their mouth to give pleasure to another partner’s vulva.

Cyber Sex - sexually explicit conversation being held via the internet, a chat room, or email.

D

Demisexual - having sexual attraction for someone only after developing a strong emotional bond with them.

Dental Dam - a thin sheet of latex or polyurethane which acts as a barrier between either the vagina or anus and the mouth during oral sex to prevent the spread of STI’s.

Diaphragm - a method of contraception in the shape of a small disc that sits over the cervix to prevent unintended pregnancies. See also; Cap.

Dildo - a phallic toy made usually from rubber or plastic that people can use to penetrate themselves or their partners.

Discharge -

Doggy Style - a sexual position in which the receiving partner is kneeling on all fours and the giving partner penetrates the from behind.

Dopamine -

Dyke - slang term for a lesbian.

E

Ejaculate -

Emergency Contraception - a pill or tablet that a uterus-having person can take in the event of unprotected sex that can prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours. See also; Morning After Pill.

Endometriosis - an extremely painful disease in which the tissue which normally lines the uterus grows on other organs and can cause infetility.

Erection - when blood flows to the penis causing it to swell and become hard.

F

Fellatio - a sexual act in which a partner uses their mouth to give pleasure to another partner’s penis. See also; Blow Job.

Female Condom - a method of contraception in which a sheath made of latex or polyurethane gets inserted into the vagina to prevent unintended pregnancies and the spread of STI’s.

Fingering - a sexual act in which one partner uses their fingers to stimulate their partner’s vagina or anus.

Flavoured Condoms - a form of novelty condom that comes in a variety of flavours, and should only be used for oral sex.

Foreplay -

Foreskin - the fold of skin that covers the tip of the penis.

French Kiss - a kiss in which the partners use their tongues to explore the other’s mouth.

Fuck - a term for having sex.
